Full Review of Best Western Plus Anaheim Inn

Best western plus disneyland

During my trips to Disneyland, I’ve had the opportunity to stay at several off-site hotels (which means they are not Disney owned).

Hands down, my favorite hotel is the Best Western Plus Anaheim Inn. Not only is this one of the closest hotels to the parks, it exceeds my expectations for being handicap accessible!

Positive Qualities of the Hotel

Wheelchair Accessible Rooms

This hotel is entirely wheelchair accessible. Their handicap accessible room has a shaved threshold as you enter through the main doorway, and the doorways inside the room are wide enough to fit even the largest wheelchair.

The room itself is very spacious and not cluttered with unnecessary furniture. There are PLENTY of wall outlets (as well as outlets on the lamps) and they are located within reach of wheelchair users.

The room is equipped with a huge bathroom, including a roll-in shower with a built-in bench that folds up against the wall. There are also grab bars by the toilet and in the shower.

The room my family and I stay in has 3 beds, one king bed and two queen beds. The king bed is in a separate room closest to the bathroom. The two queen beds are out in the main living area next to one another.

General Handicap Accessibility

Best Western Plus Anaheim Inn does not disappoint when it comes to overall accessibility features.

Unlike some hotels I’ve stayed at, this hotel offers a delicious and completely accessible complimentary breakfast that is served from 6am – 10am.

The breakfast room is located upstairs on the third floor, but the hotel is equipped with a working elevator that can easily fit a wheelchair and several people at once. They also have plenty of tables for you to eat at your leisure.

There are also handicap accessible rooms available for those who are visual or hearing impaired.

The main lobby is quite large and features an automatic door that opens when it senses movement nearby. There are lowered countertops available so wheelchair users can check-in and sign paperwork within their reach. A computer with internet access is also available in the lobby for hotel guests.

If you want to cool off and relax on a hot day, this hotel is prepped with a handicap accessible pool and spa lift! Although I did not use the pool during my stay, I did stop by to admire it. There is also an accessible, spacious bathroom located by the pool area.

Hotel Location

Besides being handicap accessible, the most important thing to me when finding a hotel is the location.

I desire to be as close to Disneyland as humanly possible. Best Western Plus Anaheim Inn is literally right across the street from the entrance to Disneyland!

Not many people realize that the Disney hotels are actually further away from the parks than some of the hotels on Harbor Boulevard (with the exception of Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel).

All Access Disneyland

There are also plenty of restaurants nearby with the closest being Denny’s, Tony Roma’s, and ColdStone Creamery. Or if you want, you can hop on over to Downtown Disney for all the food (and shopping) your heart desires.

Friendliness of Staff

By far, Best Western Plus Anaheim Inn has the friendliest staff members!

From the very beginning when I made phone calls to ask numerous questions before booking with them, the staff were eager to help in any way that they could.

They made checking in-and-out a breeze; and if you are in need of room service, they are their in a snap! I truly thank them for making my trips to Disneyland that much more enjoyable and memorable!

Competitive Price

Considered a “value hotel”, Best Western Plus Anaheim Inn is one of the most affordable “good neighbor hotel” options compared to other hotels equal in distance to Disneyland.

Depending on the time of year and if you choose a regular room or a suite, the average cost of a handicap accessible room is between $130 and $220 per night. Worth every penny if you ask me!

Negative Qualities of the Hotel

If I had one complaint, it would be the lack of handicap accessible parking spaces, particularly van accessible parking spaces.

While the hotel did have one van accessible parking space up front near the lobby, it is usually taken, often by a small car. There are a few handicap parking spaces toward the rear of the hotel by the pool area, but it is quite a distance from the handicap accessible rooms and the main lobby.

This hotel also did not have a safe in the room. This may hinder some people who like to keep personal belongings locked up while they are gone.

Additional Information

Another perk to this hotel is the fact that they allow your car to stay parked there until 6pm the day you checkout.

I’ve stayed at so many hotels that made us move our car after we checked out. Not only was that a huge hassle, it usually costs an additional $20 fee to park elsewhere.

With the hotel letting us stay parked there, we were able to enjoy another full day at the parks or strolling through Downtown Disney!

Video

Here’s a little video I took of the handicap accessible room my family and I stayed in during our 6 day vacation.

Forgive me, I’m not the best videographer by any means! Just want you to be able to have a glimpse for yourself of this amazing room. Click here to watch the video and be taken to my YouTube channel
